Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 30 October 2026
Welcome to Elizabeth Martin – Massage and Wellness Therapy.
These Terms & Conditions explain the arrangements for booking and receiving treatments. By making an appointment, you agree to the terms outlined below.
1. About my services
I provide massage and wellness therapy from my private home studio in Edinburgh, as well as through my NHS role.
My private home studio currently accepts female clients only.
Treatments are tailored to the individual and may include sports massage, deep tissue massage, oncology massage, reflexology and other wellness-based treatments.
Every treatment is approached individually, taking into account your health, circumstances and personal preferences.
2. Booking appointments
Appointments can be booked through my online booking system or arranged directly with me.
When booking, please ensure that your contact details are correct and that you select the appropriate treatment and appointment length.
For new clients, I generally recommend allowing 60 or 90 minutes for an initial consultation and treatment. This allows us time to discuss your circumstances, understand your needs and plan an appropriate approach.
Appointment availability is subject to my current schedule.
3. Health information and suitability for treatment
Your health and wellbeing are important to me.
Before your appointment, you will be asked to complete a consultation form covering relevant medical history, existing conditions, medications, injuries and other information that may affect your treatment.
It is your responsibility to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to let me know if anything changes.
Some health conditions, medications, injuries or recent procedures may mean that treatment needs to be adapted, postponed or declined.
I reserve the right to amend or decline a treatment where I believe it would not be appropriate to proceed.
If necessary, I may recommend that you seek advice from your GP, consultant or another healthcare professional before treatment.
4. Treatment and consent
All treatments are tailored to the individual.
Before and during your appointment, we will discuss your preferences, any areas of concern and the approach being taken.
Your consent is required throughout treatment. You are welcome to ask questions, request changes or stop treatment at any time.
I aim to provide a professional, respectful and comfortable environment where you feel able to communicate openly about your needs.
5. Payments and deposits
Treatment prices are displayed on my website and booking system.
A deposit may be required to secure your appointment. Any deposit amount and payment arrangements will be made clear during the booking process.
The remaining balance is payable at the time of your appointment unless otherwise agreed.
I accept the payment methods made available to you when booking or attending your appointment.
6. Cancellations and missed appointments
I operate a 48-hour cancellation policy.
If you need to cancel or rearrange your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.
Deposits and any applicable late cancellation charges are handled in accordance with my separate Cancellation Policy.
You can find the full details on my Cancellation Policy page.
7. Late arrival
Please arrive as close as possible to your appointment time.
If you arrive late, your treatment may need to be shortened to avoid affecting other appointments. The original appointment fee may still apply.
If you are running late, please let me know as soon as possible.
8. Your appointment environment
Treatments take place in a private home studio.
The studio is intended to provide a quiet, private and professional treatment environment. Appointment details and the studio address will be provided as part of the booking arrangements.
9. Gift vouchers
Gift vouchers are subject to the terms and expiry information provided at the time of purchase.
Vouchers cannot be exchanged for cash. Any remaining balance or booking arrangements will be explained when purchasing or redeeming a voucher.
10. Scope of practice
Massage and wellness therapy can support relaxation, movement, comfort and general wellbeing.
My treatments are not intended to replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment from your GP, consultant or other healthcare professional.
I work within my training, qualifications and professional scope of practice and will refer you back to an appropriate healthcare professional where necessary.
11. Privacy and personal information
Any personal information you provide, including health information, is handled in accordance with my Privacy Policy.
You can find further details about how your information is collected, stored and used on my Privacy Policy page.
12. Changes to these Terms & Conditions
I may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time to reflect changes to my services or business arrangements.
The latest version will be available on my website.
